Our Leadership – Pastor John Saltee
After a distinguished career with the Los Angeles City Fire Department, retiring as a Captain, John Saltee followed a deeper calling—one that would shape the rest of his life. With a master’s degree in Christian Theology from Westminster Theological Seminary California, John transitioned from fighting fires to tending hearts.
For eleven years, he served at the Ventura County Rescue Mission, where he spent the last nine as executive director, leading a dedicated team of thirty-three staff members. His leadership brought stability, growth, and renewed hope to those the Mission served. Before that, John pastored a local church for two years, laying the foundation for a lifelong commitment to ministry.
In 2020, John and his wife, Becki, moved to the mountain community of Pine Mountain Club. There, a new opportunity arose—one that brought him full circle. Recently, John was called once again to pastor, this time at Summit View Church, a newly formed Christian fellowship in PMC.
John’s passion is to glorify God by faithfully serving Christ, shepherding His people, and reaching out to the broader community with grace, truth, and love.
